Flash on the Beach, Brighton, UK — memorable moment. Robert Hodgin shows one of his works (an edited version of Magnetosphere) and I’ve never seen 700 people staring at a giant screen in such an absolute silence before. Put 700 people in one room, and try to create absolute silence, you’ll find it impossible, not for Robert Hodgin that is.

After seeing his session “The Blind Sketchmaker” on Multimania ’07 in Kortrijk, I was really looking forward to his new pres, called “2D or not 2D that is the question”. And I wasn’t the only one, the CornExchange was packed, they even stopped people from entering the room and they ended up by putting a lot of people in front of the stage on the floor, including a lot of speakers which I think shows a great respect for this guy. We arrived safe and well in wonderful Brighton, UK. We went via London with the eurostar and did some sightseeing there. In Brighton we’re staying at Russel Guesthouse. Small but nice room, free wifi and close to Brighton Pier. What more do you want? Yesterday we met up with several Belgians and went out for Italian in the centre. Later we went to the speakers hotel (Old Ship) and had a few drinks there. We got some sleep and are now ready to explore the promising FOTB-scene at the Dome.

Last weekend I bought my ticket for Flash on the beach. Together with two indiegroup colleagues I’m staying for four days in Brighton, UK to attend one ofthe biggest flash conferences in Europe. What a line-up, you can check the speakers here. We still have to figure out whether we go by boat or by train. And if anyone knows a little hotel in Brighton, please let me know. Or other tips, like restaurants and bars !!
